Who is behind All Short Quotes?
AllShortQuotes.com is an independently operated website. Contact the site owner about the wording, a correction, or the website at mickey@allshortquotes.com.
Quotations and site wording are different
An “Attributed quotation” names an author or Bible reference, links to a source text, and includes a note about context. A character’s dialogue is identified as dialogue. Some short selections are extracts; the notes explain omissions, joined verse lines, or modernized spelling. Literary quotations are selected from older works, and Bible selections use the King James Version.
“Original message,” “Original saying,” and “Original caption” identify wording supplied by this site rather than a quotation attributed to a famous person. Drafting of site wording and guidance uses AI assistance. These labels do not mean that every brief phrase is unique in the English language or that similar everyday wording cannot exist elsewhere.
How to use the collections
Start with the short examples, then use the collection’s writing guide to adjust the tone or add a real detail. Names, memories, and situations in worked examples are illustrative, not testimonials or accounts of real readers. Do not copy an example’s memory as if it happened to you, and make only promises you can keep.
Copy and share retain the author and work when a passage is attributed. A quote image retains the author or verse reference; include the work, translation, and any important context in your accompanying caption. A source link is not a blanket permission for every edition, territory, or commercial use.
Source checks and corrections
The linked source notes let you compare the wording with the passage. They are not a promise that the library is error-free. We do not import the old user-submitted quote database because its sourcing and submission history cannot be verified.
To report a problem, send the page URL, the words in question, and a source link or edition reference. A correction can involve changing wording, clarifying a source, or removing a quotation. The grief and relationship collections offer writing examples, not personalized professional advice.
